Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. When she was just five when she left for Oxfordshire and enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. At the age of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons for acting, singing and dance. At the age of 10 years old, Emma took part in numerous Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama teacher. After eight auditions consistently, the producer David Heyman told Emma and other applicants Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint that they were cast to play the three leads Hermione Granger Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. Emma's debut on the big screen took place in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that was released in the year 2001. It was the highest-grossing film of 2001 The film broke records for its opening day opening and the opening weekend's earnings. Reviewers praised the film, and especially the young performers. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed, called her performance commendable. Emma later won five awards for her performance in the film.
